Manzanita Table

Description

I have had this wood for over 30 years and just now finished getting around to it. It's manzanita burl from old growth redwood forest near Santa Cruz CA. The round table top pieces are very rare. The burl almost always is very convoluted in it's growth structure and more often has many roots grown together forming one large mass. Out of over a hundred stumps I had it was the only round one. The base is more typical of the root formations. The carved portion was a cluster of smaller roots grown into the rest of the larger root.

Wow, I've never seen a manzanita root that big. It's a fascinating wood, so convoluted and hard as glass. You've done a beautiful job!
